Theme: Out in Space
Guests arriving at the Langham Hotel on Saturday 13th August could be forgiven
for thinking they had stumbled into a sci-fi convention. Yoda, Darth Varder,
Darth Maul, Imperial Stormtroopers, Jedi Knights, an assortment of Star Trek
characters and a huge range of space fantasy themed costumes filled the Ballroom
and took over the hotel as hundreds of lesbians danced the night away at the
Out in Space Lesbian Ball.
Thanks to the generosity of our prize sponsors, women attending
this year had the chance to win some fantastic gifts with the
major prize of a $1000 diamond. Other main prizewinners took
away a mystery adventure from Potiki Adventures,
an intriguing gift pack from D.Vice,
a luxury night for two at Waihoihoi Lodge in
Waipu and a 12-month membership at Contours Gym in
Henderson. As usual Harvey World Travel donated
the spot prizes of alcohol, perfume and accessories.
Our financial sponsors also made an important contribution to the
success of the Ball so we would like to acknowledge the support of aLBa,
