Auckland Lesbian Ball
The Lesbian Ball is an annual event that has grown from small beginnings into one of the premier social occasions on Auckland's Lesbian calendar. Each year sees a different theme giving lots of scope for women to indulge their creativity and their fantasies. Recent themes have included Wild Women, Fire and Ice, Silver Screen and 80’s Retro.

The 2005 theme was sci-fi/fantasy - Out in Space. We saw some fantastic sci-fi inspired costumes and characters as well as the more traditional formalwear. The evening was a huge success.

Venue
LESO believes that we deserve a quality event in a quality venue and so we have developed a strong relationship with the Langham Hotel in Auckland City. The Langham is one of Auckland’s top five star hotels, located on the edge of the CBD and close to many of Auckland’s gay and gay-friendly bars, restaurants, shops and clubs. It offers 410 well-appointed guest rooms, health club, 3 stylish restaurants and friendly service. The Hotel’s complimentary city shuttle makes local attractions very accessible.

Over 70 rooms were booked for the 2004 and 2005 Balls, with many women taking advantage of the hotel facilities and of course indulging in pre and post Ball parties. The Langham staff bring an air of relaxed professionalism to the Ball, helping to ensure that those women staying over have a great time.

Out of Town
If you live outside of Auckland, The Holiday Shop Ponsonby can help out with a great package, which includes a ball ticket and accommodation at the Langham. With women coming from throughout NZ tickets often sell out well in advance, so Wayne and the team would be pleased to assist you with planning your stay.
